Gog from Magog

i saw an other thread about what the wt says who or what gog is.. my speculation is based on the following:.

in the end un will get the power for a short while, as taught in the wt literature.

this is based on revelation 17:12-14: "the ten horns that you saw mean ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but they do receive authority as kings for one hour with the wild beast.

I was talking to an old, still in friend the other day and he mentioned this new understanding of Gog and Magog, although he didnt explain it to me. So whether he personally understood, or cared about it is another story.

Its simply classic WT tactics to distract the average JW for a bit longer, another carrot to dangle- a reason to talk about how the organisation is moving along and obviously signifies how close the end must be.

Re-introduce a mysterious concept from the bible that is shrouded in obscurity, that may or may not point to the end times and the apocolypse, or it may just be a story that applied to a localised area that has long since occured. or, because it is in Revelation, may be an analogy.

From the time of Josephus until now, no one really knows who it applies to, and probably because of that, it has been applied to so many different places and people.

Where I grew up, girls were strongly encouraged to only marry a guy if he was over 20, pioneering and a M. S.

It was definitely a status symbol for some sisters to get a husband that matched that criteria.

I still question how people willingly accept figures from India, a country that is rife with corruption, yet ignore their own country, its almost like they have a pre-conceived idea that they desperately want to be true.

As far as my lived experience, my state had a maximum if 700-ish cases a day during the first wave, when no one was vaxxed , by September 2020, about people 800 had died from covid, according to official figures.

During the delta wave of 2021, we have had a further 400-500 deaths despite having daily case numbers of 1200- 2000. During this time, people were getting vaccinated. If you believe the official figures, the vast majority of deaths were unvaxxed.

The only way we are going to know for sure is time.

I'm just a little tired of people trying to prove that only ivermectin works by citing 'proof' from countries where reporting is hard to quantify, when all they have to do is take note of their lived experience in their home country.

How many times do we have to hear about an Indian state called Uttar Pradesh beating the virus with ivermectin only? Even if all they actually used was ivermectin, anecdotal evidence, even from doctors is not good enough to prove anything. It's like most other viral sicknesses, some will recover regardless of treatment, some will die regardless of treatment and some will fall in between the two.

Simon, speaking from my experience right here in Australia, the number of cases have come down. Apart from Melbourne, Australia is virtually covid free. Sydney has beaten the delta wave with lockdown and vaccines. Im not sure why you insist that isn't the case by saying the figures don't show that.

Australia was slow to vaccinate and , just as your chart shows , Simon, cases spiked in August in Sydney and Melbourne. Your chart also shows cases coming down as more people get vaxxed. I mentioned already, multiple medical sources right here in Australia are saying that the unvaxxed account for the vast majority of hospitalisations. Last time I heard it was 95% approx.

The fullfact source you linked also showed that was the about the same rate early in the UK, but according to them, its more like 35% now.

The problem you have is that they stats you are given often don't hold up to scrutiny.
What you think you were told is that 95% of people in hospital and unvaccinated and there because of COVID. That is likely very far from the truth.
You are being lied to, constantly, and even if someone shows you the truth you will find it easier to double-down than to admit you were fooled, because that is human nature.
It's not 35% in the UK. At what point do you admit that things are not as they are portrayed?

Actually Simon, I am more than happy to be proven wrong- please show me credible stats for Australia if you think I am mistaken. In the meantime, here is a recent news article.

I dont need to go looking for tenuous statistics in far-flung countries with 3rd world medical facilities and reporting. Australia now has about 85% of its population fully vaxxed. We have used lockdowns and vaccines and have extremely low rates of covid. But guess who is sick in hospital with covid- the unvaccinated, who account for about 95% hospital admissions. These are not made up statistics,they are freely available for you to read first hand, you dont even need to go on a conspiracy-based website- amazing.

If you are getting your info from websites like info-wars, you are not doing independant research, you are getting regurgitated, third hand nonsense from religious fundamentalists with an over-inflated view of themselves. If you think big pharma has taken advantage, what about all these nuts on social media who are cashing in on this situation.

is bible prophecy now starting to come true regarding a prelude to the great tribulation?.

full disclosure: i still don't believe in the bible's claims about the existence of the supernatural, even of jehovah god (i'm an atheist and a scientific/philosophical naturalist), but i am asking this question because recent events are starting to seem (to me) to fit well the description of some prophecies in the bible.

consider the following.. several hours ago (on 11-26-2021) as i was about to enter a local fred meyer store of my city (in suburb or small city in the metro area of a large city) a person i know told me that a moment earlier a person left the store in a hurry with a cart load up with unpaid merchandise (i think i was told it was groceries but i don't remember that for sure).

If a God didnt bring an end the world after the horrors of ww2, when the world was a broken, chaotic mess, why would he bother with a global pandemic that by historic standards, is fairly mild, when it comes to death toll?
